For 18-year old Shravan Kumaran and his 16-year old brother Sanjay Kumaran, the question is irrelevant as they have been running a company since 2012 when they were 12 and 10 respectively.
The two teenage brothers cofounded GoDimensions, a mobile app developer when they were just 12 and 10 respectively. Identified as youngest Mobile Application Programmers in India and one of the youngest in the World, the duo have been making apps for both Android and iOS applications. To date they have developed over 11 applications and also have released a couple of Windows apps.
There apps have clocked over 70,000 downloads in over 60 countries. Their first app –– “Catch me Cop” on the Apple App Store –– was a hit.
“We developed more than 150 test apps before releasing the first app, Catch Me Cop. That app was launched within a week of submission to Apple, and that was really exciting. Another app, Alphabet Board, got a rating of 5 on the app store,” said Shravan, who credits Apple founder Steve Jobs for inspiring him to be what he is today. “Jobs is the big daddy of clean and intuitive user interfaces and who changed the way we communicate. And how can I forget his famous line, `Stay hungry, Stay foolish’,” They said.
They hold the distinction of being the youngest Mobile Application Programmers in India by Apple and the last year, they were listed under “30 Under 30 Asia” in 2017 edition released by Forbes. The two have previously made presentations at TEDx, and IIM-Bangalore.
The brothers are hoping to get at least 50% of smartphone users in India to use their apps.
